Here they are! Meet the designers we started working with and see what was happening at BDP 2023.

Bydgoszcz Design Days 2023 - it was happening!

Exactly two weeks ago the second edition of the Bydgoszcz Design Days began. Not only were we a proud sponsor of the event and a partner of an extraordinary exhibition about light and imagination titled "The Light and the Imagination. "Enchantment" by Konrad Kulczynski, but we also held two meetings entitled "The Enchantment". "Conversations on Design," to which we invited designers, architects, as well as other companies and media related to the interior design market.

We would like to tell you what we talked about, what we showed Kaspa fans, what will be coming to us in the near future, but most of all we would like to introduce you to the profiles and presentations of our speakers, who are also the designers of the new Kaspa lamp collections... Lamps that will see the light of day in the spring of 2024. Yes, we are also looking forward to!

Kaspa begins cooperation with Polish designers

However, let's start with how it came to be that we undertook a design collaboration with Polish designers, and introduce their. They are Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz from the Grynasz Studio, Aleksandra Hyz of hyz designs and Justyna Hys-Bochinska from J Creative Studio. Our decision to invite these talented, award-winning designers to work with us came from our love of Polish design, the need to guarantee our customers lamps that are beautiful, yet functional. We constantly strive to improve the well-being of our users by illuminating their interiors with lamps that are not only decorative, but that also respond to their needs, that accompany them in their daily rituals, that follow them and take care of their well-being. We want to offer lamps that also meet the needs of architects and designers of individual and commercial interiors, which offer the possibility of expansion, as well as the creation of original designs tailored to the needs of the interior. We also want to give a nod to the history of Polish design and Polish materials... But for now, we're not revealing anything more!

Kaspa is changing...

Sustainability and care for the planet is also extremely important to us. For this reason, we are significantly reducing our product range (our warehouse airing and -40% promotions are underway), and we are giving a new face to the ready-made lamp designs that, over the 9 years of Kaspa's existence, have been most popular with our customers. When deciding on these changes, we follow the changes in our users' lifestyles and new trends (hence the new materials and trim colors).

We do not want to endlessly multiply our products. We prefer them to be well thought out and designed, to be refined and environmentally friendly, to appeal to Polish conscious users who appreciate good quality and design. We still manufacture in Poland, we still care about the details, we still put our customers and their needs first. And how the future creators of our new lamp collections approach design?

Grynasz Studio - with care in and about design

Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz of Grynasz Studio are well-known designers, over the years repeatedly awarded with numerous prestigious awards, such as "Must Have", "Good Design" and "Red Dot Award". During their presentation, they talked about why nature plays such an important role in their work and how they take care of it when designing. The Grynasz duo not only focuses on sustainable design, circular economy, attentiveness and empathy in design, but is eager to experiment with new materials and environmentally friendly technologies, and also draws inspiration for their work from Polish crafts and traditions. As Marta rightly pointed out - nature, wood, natural materials are part of our Polish heritage, but also of our childhood and Polish landscape, hence they so often appear in their projects, arousing not only the admiration of design lovers, but also a sense of nostalgia that is hard to resist. We hope you are curious about what lamps Grynasz Studio will design for us!

Aleksandra Hyz - on a Venetian wave

A completely different story captivated the participants of "Conversations" Aleksandra Hyz, an interior and furniture designer honored with numerous awards (Must Have, Good Design). A fan of modernism in architecture, a fan of raw, natural materials that age with dignity, an advocate of a holistic approach to design. It was this approach - taking into account both functionality and visual experience - that accompanied her while working on the interior of the popular Warsaw bar Va Bene Cichetti (collaboration with Noke Architects). The unusual interior of this atmospheric establishment reflects Venice's Aqua Alta, or great water, which rushes into the city several times a year, painting it a distinctive green hue. Alexandra told how the design team approached the interior design and lighting, which was designed to allow guests to immerse themselves as deeply as possible in the Venetian atmosphere. For its design, its creators have received numerous awards and prizes (including the Bar&Restaurant Award for the best design in Europe in the Standalone category). On behalf of Alexandra, welcome to Va Bene Cichetti. We will be sitting there waiting for the lamps that Ola will design especially for Kaspa this time.

Justyna Hys-Bochinska - design and work in XXL size

The author of the third presentation, which aroused great interest among the guests of "Design Talks," was Justyna Hys-Bochinska - an architect, interior and furniture designer, CGI (Computer Generated Imaginery) artist, and a respected expert in creating virtual reality walks and animation. A finalist and winner of many industry competitions, in her presentation she talked about her experience working on large-scale, multi-year projects and in multicultural project teams. As a teamleader managing a team on the design and construction of a hotel in Las Vegas with more than 3,500 rooms, she shared the challenges that designers and architects face when working on this type of building. Justyna revealed to us what her calendar and employment structure looks like, what surprises come with working in a multicultural environment, and what time she has calle with her team.... One thing is certain, Justyna Hys-Bochinskaya is not afraid of big challenges, so we are all the more curious to see what lamps she will design especially for Kaspa's clients.

Stop by the exhibition and watch us closely

The meeting also hosted Beata Bochinska, curator of the Bydgoszcz Design Days, and Konrad Kulczynski, curator and creator of the "Enchantment" exhibition, who talked about the flavors and secrets of the exhibition, which is not only the first art installation of its kind about light in Poland, but also a tribute to the work of Wieslaw Krysiak, a glass and stained glass artist from Bydgoszcz. You can view the exhibition at Rothera Mills by the end of January 2024., as well as online thanks to Bochinski Foundation on the website Design takeaway. Take a close look at all the stations, relax in the white box and look for our lamp, which is also part of the exhibition.

And be sure to watch us and our profiles. We will slowly unveil cards and brand new projects!
