APOLIN lamp collection - design heritage and modern technologies

The authors of the Apolin collection are Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz - design duo forming Grynasz Studio. Inspiration and the starting point for the creation of Apolin lamps were projects that were created in Poland and Europe in the 1950s - 1970s, in particular lamps produced at the MEOS and ZAOS manufacturing plants. Establishing a dialogue with Polish designers of the post-war years is reflected in the the name of the collection, which refers to the person of Apolinary Jan Galecki - one of the leading designers and constructors active in Poland at the time.

In times of perpetual shortage of raw materials, "scarcity" and the need to economize forced designers to search for and produce items that were both functional and durable. The assumptions of design "for years" and the materials used, are identical to the ideas of sustainable development, as well as responsible design. With the values that the duo from Grynasz Studio follow on a daily basis, which are also reflected in the Apolin lamp collection. Lamps that can be repaired, maintained, passed down from generation to generation.

The Apolin family includes pendant lamps, wall lamps, table lamps and portable lamps, characterized by simple geometric shapes, faceted bowls and rounded corners. Although Apolin lamps are made of made of profiled stainless steel, fixtures have a light and timeless character. Form and function are equivalent and mutually supportive here.

Indeed, the designers of the Apolin collection have taken a holistic approach to the concept of interior lighting, offering both a a wide variety of lamps in the collection, as well as the ability to adjust the intensity and color temperature of the light (Pendant lamps and wall lamps are controlled by remote control and app). Thus, the Apolin collection takes into account the assumptions of the concept of circadian lighting, responding to the biological needs of humans, which arise from our natural diurnal rhythm. Thus, users, can enjoy the light corresponding to their activities, accompanying them in their daily rituals, corresponding to the needs of the moment, the time of day and the year. Light that follows their individual rhythms and moods.

The collection also includes table lamps with perforated canopy - which plays with light, providing an interesting lighting experience - and lamps in brushed steel and brushed brass versions, that will appeal to lovers of raw, brutalist materials and accessories. The use of eco-friendly materials and replaceable light sources, the introduction of thoughtful design solutions such as use of the effect of reflected light and the use of the latest technology makes Apolin lamps not only environmentally friendly, but also to their users, supporting them in taking care of regulating the diurnal rhythm, and thus maintaining health and general well-being.

The Apolin collection draws on the heritage of Polish design thought, as well as the achievements of the Bauhaus and modernism, and fixtures from this line will find their place in spaces maintained in vintage, modern classic, eclectic, minimalist and brutalist interiors. Apolin lamps, however, will work well not only in individual interiors, but also in in commercial spaces - cafes, breakfast shops, bars, restaurants, hotels and spa salons.

Apolin promises soft light, forms and materials that are friendly to their users, to design history, to contemporary interiors, to our planet. It's lamps and light that are here and now drawing from the past, for the sake of the future.
