Talking about design - Kaspa at Bydgoszcz Design Days 2023

Design Talks - Bydgoszcz Design Days October 7 and 8, 2023 / Rothera Mills

For the second time, Kaspa is a sponsor and partner of Bydgoszcz Design Days, an event dedicated to Polish design. As a partner of the exhibition "Enchantment," an exhibition that tells the story of light, inspired by the stained glass projects of Bydgoszcz-based designer Wieslaw Krysiak and curated by Konrad Kulczynski, and as a leading Polish lighting brand, we will talk about light these days, but also about design.

Kaspa, like light, is constantly changing, and the next step in our development, is to establish design partnerships with well-known Polish furniture and interior designers. During our meeting entitled "Conversations on Design", we will introduce you (although these names in the interior design industry do not need to be introduced to anyone): Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz of Grynasz Studio, Justyna Hys-Bochińska and Aleksandra Hyz - designers of new Kaspa lamp collections, which we will present in the first quarter of 2024. They will talk about their experiences with design, their most interesting projects and realizations. Here's a closer look at their profiles, as well as the topics of their short, but knowledge- and design-saturated presentations.

During the meeting we will also present the autumn novelties in Kaspa's offer... There will be lots of nature, lots of trends and even more light! The full program of the Bydgoszcz Design Days can be found at under this link,. We invite you to sign up for our meetings, which will be held on Saturday at 3 pm (SAVINGS) and on Sunday at 12 p.m. (SAVINGS)

Grynasz Studio and mindfulness in design

Marta Niemywska-Grynasz and Dawid Grynasz - founders of Grynasz Studio - will talk about the idea of sustainable design, circular economy, attentiveness and empathy in design, which they follow while working on new products, using selected projects as examples.

Using the example of cooperation with the Bizzarto brand (manufacturer of the DUNE modular collection and PURRO coffee table), the designers will talk about high-quality materials and design of furniture so that it can be subjected to maintenance in later years.

Their presentation will also include other projects - an exhibition called RESOURCES, or an art installation for the COSENTINO brand, and furniture designed by Grynasz Studio for the German brand OKA Büromöbel.

Justyna Hys-Bochinska - experience of intercultural cooperation

Justyna Hys-Bochinska - architect, interior and furniture designer, CGI (Computer Generated Imaginery) artist. Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the Cracow University of Technology and the Faculty of Architecture at the Athens University of Technology. For the past 7 years he has been running his design studio - J Creative Studio.

He works both in the Polish and foreign markets (mainly the United States of America and Scandinavian countries) managing multi-person project teams. Finalist and winner of many industry competitions (Polish and international), as well as a respected expert in the field of CGI (Computer Generated Imaginery - creating visualizations, virtual reality walkthroughs, and animations) design.

During her presentation, Justyna Hys-Bochinska will talk about her experience in cross-cultural cooperation and project implementation in international design teams on the example of implementations in a hotel chain.

What mechanisms guide the organization of work on large-scale projects? What does it look like to complete and then work in a team of several hundred people from all over the world, and what does the planning, the project process itself, and the daily communication look like from the perspective of a project team member.

Aleksandra Hyz - projects in style

Aleksandra Hyz - She began her artistic education at the University of Arts in Poznan, then continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Her works are recognized both in cooperation with various design offices and in the course of running her own company, which have been highlighted in the national and international press.

A holistic approach to interior design allows her to focus on the overall visual impression of an interior while taking care of its functionality and detail. As a result, she also designs furniture that has been awarded in the Must Have 2020 I Dobry Wzór 2020 competition (Balma Floo - collaboration with Aleksnadra Mętlewicz), Dobry Wzór 2021 (Monolith table). For her interior designs, she received the Audience Award in the Poland Architecture XXL 2022 Poll and a significant distinction in the design world in the Bar&Restaurant Award competition for the Va Bene Cichetti restaurant design (collaboration with Noke Architects) recognized as the best design in Europe in the Standalone category.

Lover of modernism in architecture and interiors, raw and natural materials that age with dignity.

Lighting and Climate of "Warsaw Venice" - how and why?

Cicchetti's Va bene project combines not only the beauty and atmosphere of Venice, but also a unique approach to lighting and climate in restaurant interiors. This innovative interior design was created to transport restaurant guests into the magical atmosphere of Venice. Architectural elements, decorations and unique lighting have been carefully selected to reflect the charm and character of this Italian city.

The lecture will discuss the details of the project, including the choice of appropriate lighting, colors and materials, which together create a unique atmosphere. There will be talk of cooperation and artistry of the place. Va bene Cicchetti is not just a restaurant, it's a true work of art that is an inspiration for anyone who wants to create unique interiors that transport guests to magical places around the world
